Estonia expresses support for Ukraine at COP28 in Dubai
Mr. Keit Kasemets, First Deputy Minister of Climate of Estonia, visited Ukraine Pavilion at the UN Climate Change Conference COP28 in Dubai.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Climate of Estonia Keit Kasemets said that Estonia fully supports the Environmental declaration and reiterates that Russia must be held accountable for the environmental and ecological damage caused by the war in Ukraine.
Kasemets said that it is important for the international community to help Ukraine eliminate environmental damage and confirmed that Estonians are ready to offer their knowledge.
“For example, Estonia has experience in how to prioritize, map and deal with polluted water resources after the Soviet Army left Estonia. We know how important international cooperation was in our case,” said Kasemets.
As a reminder, Ukraine’s participation in COP28 in Dubai continues the international dialogue on the Global Platform for Assessing Environmental Damage from War announced by the President of Ukraine at COP27.
