International cooperation in assessing environmental damage caused by the russian invasion

04.12.2023

15:00 – 16:30 (tbc.)

The longer Russia’s war of aggression on Ukraine lasts, the more damage it causes to the environment and the more long-term consequences it has. Accurate mapping and assessment of the environmental damage caused by the war is a key first step in developing a plan for Ukraine’s sustainable post-war recovery. This ambitious goal requires joint international efforts. At the event, international experts will present their studies on environmental damage caused by military actions and the negative impact of war on the climate.

Moderator: Victoria Yershova, Project Manager, Environmental Damage Assessment project, UNDP in Ukraine
