Ensuring Gender Equality in Environmental Damage Assessment and the Green Recovery Process of Ukraine

Gender equality and leaving no one behind are key to the post-war recovery in Ukraine – to Build Back Better. The impacts of war are uneven, with the greatest effects on women, children, and people with disabilities.
The session will be dedicated to the gender issues in green recovery in Ukraine that are relevant in 2023. The speakers will discuss women’s gender challenges such as underrepresentation in decision-making about energy and climate change and gender blindness of energy and climate change policies, as well as elaborate on the ways to better engage women into the current and post-war recovery planning.
