A silent victim of many armed-conflicts is the climate system with hostilities causing significant emissions of greenhouse gases. Following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, for the first time conflict emissions have meticously been recorded. This side event will give an overview of GHG emissions after three year of war for all six impact categories with a deep dive into warfare, landscape fires and civil aviation.
